· Coordinate the identification of WASH related staff capacity and technical assistance needs of partner organizations, capacity strengthening and required interventions to support quality project implementation.

· Represent CRS at various coordination meetings, including clusters and working groups, fostering collaboration and ensuring CRS's interests and initiatives were well represented among stakeholders.

· Provide strong leadership of the WASH program, working to ensure both short / long term positive impacts and outcomes for the beneficiaries.

· Develop and implement an appropriate and effective WASH strategy, setting clear objectives and indicators, for WASH activities in consultation with other WASH staff and field managers and where appropriate, with the local communities.

· Continuously monitor and supervise WASH activities, overseeing the technical design, execution and evaluation of progress through outputs and impacts using both quantitative and qualitative data.

· Provide input into the integration of beneficiary participation and accountability in all aspects of the project.

· Ensure accurate and timely reporting of activities according to SSWC, donor and other applicable timeframes and formats.

· Develop new proposals, linked to the country strategy, in conjunction with the relevant field managers.

· Manage the WASH budget, ensure all expenses are according to budget and meet SSWCs standards with regard to financial management, including accountability and good governance.

· Participate in WASH coordination meetings and other working groups or meetings as required, representing SSWCs and feeding back to the WASH staff and field managers on relevant issues.

· Generate and submit monthly project activity reports to the SSWCs Humanitarian Program Coordinator, highlighting progress and challenges.

· Conduct training sessions for staff and community members to enhance knowledge and skills in WASH practices and foster a culture of learning and improvement within the project team.

· Successfully coordinated WASH interventions with alight field offices, partners communities and local authorities, ensuring timely delivery of program activities and improving service effectiveness.

· Supported the efficient implementation of WASH promotion activities in alignment with Alight Somalia’s strategic objectives and annual plans, enhancing community engagement and awareness of hygiene practices.

· Conducted thorough WASH needs assessments for affected populations, collecting baseline data that informed program design and targeted interventions.

· Worked closely with Alight’s WASH other WASH team at field level to ensure that the construction of water, sanitation and hygiene facilities met SPHERE standards, as reflected in the Somalia WASH Strategic Operational Framework, ensuring quality and safety.

· Facilitated the understanding and implementation of hygiene and sanitation practices among communities and IDPs in project areas, leading to improved public health outcomes.

· Ensured that WASH interventions effectively addressed the specific needs of vulnerable groups, including children, women, the elderly and people with disabilities, promoting equitable access to services.

· Established and strengthened Water Management and Sanitation and Hygiene committees, fostering better coordination and relationships among community members, Alight, government ministries and other partners, leading to enhanced community ownership of WASH initiatives.

· Developed and regularly reviewed detailed implementation plans, activity schedules and monitoring frameworks for multisectoral projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and effective program execution.
