The establishment of Steno Diabetes Center Aarhus provides an opportunity to take diabetes research to the next level, contributing to the consolidation and promotion of Denmark's position in the international elite in clinical diabetes research.
During my time here I worked with oral health services related to diabetes. I draft an article on "Use of dental services among people with type 2 diabetes compared to non-diabetics."
Research assistant position at the Section of Periodontology, Department of Dentistry and Oral Health (IOOS), Aarhus University. During the period as a research assistant at the IOOS, I have worked alongside with PhD student to conduct a systematic review on halitosis and quality of life, and has participated in all steps of the review process, which has resulted in a publication.
Primary tasks have included data entry in REDCap and collaborating on article writing, resulting in co-authorship.We explore factors that influence global health and effective interventions to address increasing global health challenges. Responsibility for examining both children and young people (pedagogy).Examines and educates patients on signs of oral diseases, such as gingivitis, and provides preventive care, including oral hygiene. Performed fissure sealing, x-rays, provided information and advice on brushing teeth, acid damage, scaling, and fully documented clinical findings. In connection with the clinic's association with dental care for the elderly, I carried out examinations and provided information on periodontal disease, plaque, dentures, and dry mouth. Took impressions, inserted wires and elastics, tightened bands, and removed elastics. Provided patient education and home care instructions on nutrition, maintained hygiene recall and communication with patients, supported the dentist in treatment planning, and ensured an excellent patient experience.
