My journey to Africa began as a university teacher with a passion for health and education. My dual role as an educator and oral health volunteer reflects my commitment to making a meaningful impact in the community.
As a university lecturer, I understand the importance of focusing on health and education to shape the future of students and contribute to the development of a better education system.
Through my volunteer work in oral health at local schools and health centers, I demonstrate my dedication to improving the well-being of underserved populations. By providing oral health education and services, I not only address immediate needs but also promote long-term health outcomes and empower individuals to take charge of their own health.

As a teacher in the dental hygienist program, my primary tasks include planning and conducting clinical teaching for the program. I teach students about examination, diagnostics, and treatment in the field of dental hygiene. Specifically, my tasks include:

• Providing high-quality clinical teaching and continuously improving it.
• Teaching theoretical subjects such as Epidemiology with a focus on methodology.
• Planning and administering tests and exams.
• Developing and implementing a new curriculum for the dental hygienist education, in collaboration with other teachers on the program.
• Utilizing various teaching methods, including both clinical and theoretical approaches.
• In addition to our teaching responsibilities, dental hygienists play a crucial role in providing quality dental hygiene services, preventing oral diseases, educating the public, and promoting good oral hygiene practices in society.

Steno Diabetes Center Aarhus is consolidating as one of the world’s leading research environments in clinical diabetes research in collaboration with Aarhus University Hospital and other Danish and International research environments.

The establishment of Steno Diabetes Center Aarhus provides an opportunity to take diabetes research to the next level, contributing to the consolidation and promotion of Denmark's position in the international elite in clinical diabetes research.

During my time here I worked with oral health services related to diabetes. I draft an article on "Use of dental services among people with type 2 diabetes compared to non-diabetics."

Research assistant position at the Section of Periodontology, Department of Dentistry and Oral Health (IOOS), Aarhus University. During the period as a research assistant at the IOOS, I have worked alongside with PhD student to conduct a systematic review on halitosis and quality of life, and has participated in all steps of the review process, which has resulted in a publication.

Primary tasks have included data entry in REDCap and collaborating on article writing, resulting in co-authorship.We explore factors that influence global health and effective interventions to address increasing global health challenges. How can we work in areas with poorly functioning healthcare systems that lack vital registration and where diagnosing diseases or describing their impact at the population level is not always possible?How do we design healthcare systems to maximize health outcomes?Our focus is on population health in a global context, with an emphasis on improving health for all, reducing inequalities, and protecting against global threats.

Teeth cleaning and examinations, in close collaboration with the dentist. Responsibility for examining both children and young people (pedagogy).Examines and educates patients on signs of oral diseases, such as gingivitis, and provides preventive care, including oral hygiene. Performed fissure sealing, x-rays, provided information and advice on brushing teeth, acid damage, scaling, and fully documented clinical findings. In connection with the clinic's association with dental care for the elderly, I carried out examinations and provided information on periodontal disease, plaque, dentures, and dry mouth. Took impressions, inserted wires and elastics, tightened bands, and removed elastics. Provided patient education and home care instructions on nutrition, maintained hygiene recall and communication with patients, supported the dentist in treatment planning, and ensured an excellent patient experience.
