  • Advise management on M+E solutions/options in the design of M&E staffing, resourcing and budgeting for M&E, and M+E priorities for the country office.

Monitoring & Evaluation Coordinator

  • In liaison with heads of program sections and M&E staff, lead all baseline assessments, annual project reviews, participatory impact assessments, process and operations monitoring, profiling of IDPs/Refugees and any other related task to enhance efficiency in program management.
  • Help the PMs and PCs devise and revise project log-frames (macro-logframe), particularly to make them compliant with NRC log frame development procedures and the use of NRC mandatory indicators etc.
  • Harmonize the M&E proposals and plans with those of projects for timely discharge of outputs and outcomes monitoring employing suitable methods and tools, during and after project lifespan with the view to have accurate and representative reports.
  • Coordinate and host Grant start-up meetings at the start of grants to discuss, fine-tune and reconcile different plans i.e. Gantt charts, procurement plans, HR plans etc.
  • Assist programs to brace for and conduct regular monitoring of activities against key output and outcome indicators to trace and account for progress as well as performance.

  • I assisted senior JPLG M&E Specialist in the following tasks:
  • Setup Monitoring & Evaluation Framework in line with the District Development Framework (DDF) - a five year program developed for six selected target districts in Somaliland namely Hargeisa, Berbera, Borama, Burao, Sheikh and Odweine.
  • Set good governance benchmarks along national strategies.
  • Support the Planning Department set up and implement long and short term M&E frameworks (depending on the plans) to facilitate informed decision making at all stages.
  • Recommend strategies and Capacity Building approaches to ensure that the Ministry is able to effectively play its oversight role over the districts.
  • Formulate M&E training tools for personnel at different levels of the government machinery (district, region, and central).
  • I was personally in charge of doing the following tasks:
  • Manage the JPLG-MOI Management Information Systems (web-based database management system).
  • Conduct quarterly M&E trips to the target districts and submit analytical and quantitative reports which form part of the Quarterly and Annual Reports of the project.
